MEDICAL RUBBER GLOVE PRICE
MAY RISE AFTER WAGE HIKE
Malaysia Rubber Glove Manufacturers Association (Margma) expects medical rubber glove prices to rise next year following the increase in minimum monthly wages from RM1,100 to RM1,200 that comes into effect on Jan 01, 2020. According to Margma President Denis Low on Dec 09, 2019, the glove costs could rise range between US$0.415 to US$0.75 for every 1,000 pieces of gloves depending on the type and production efficiency.
Increasing wages for urban workers will directly impact form support services, packaging materials, logistics, chemicals and raw ingredients. Low said that glove manufacturer will have to adjust and factor in this additional cost to the products.
